Superbugs!
I just noticed that there's an interesting article on the Design Council website about how design might help to tackle MRSA infections in hospitals, and how hospitals need to do more than just having a few information posters around.
Colum Lowe, Design Manager at the National Patient Safety Agency, hits the nail on the head when he says "...as designers we know that achieving any form of long lasting behaviour or culture change without any form of physical or environmental intervention is pretty much doomed to failure. Instructing staff to clean their hands at the point of care and between each patient without providing them with suitable equipment and communications will yield very poor long term improvements."
